MBB Founding Members, on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. The two-day course was PA CLE approved for 10 hours of substantive credit.

| Jan 31, 2009 -- At a free public lecture on Jan. 31 in Santa Monica, MBB Board Director and Burkle Center Deputy Director Anna Spain, a lawyer and mediator specializing in cross-cultural conflict resolution, discussed how citizens could contribute to the spread of peace around the world.

| Ken Cloke Gives Advanced Mediator Training in Pittsburgh |
| Jan 16, 2009 -- This CLE-approved course was sponsored by Robert A. Creo's Impartial Dispute Resolution Services (IDRS) based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was presented by Mediators Beyond Borders President Kenneth Cloke. The course featured 5 hours of substantive content and 1 hour of ethics, for the total of 6 credits. MBB Founding Member Ann Begler donated the space of her loft in Downtown Pittsburgh to host the training. The course was attended by over 10 people. |

MBB LA Chapter Presents 'A Mirror Reflection of You' |
March 19, 2008 -- The MBB LA Chapter organized a showing of a 30-minute portion of the documentary To Die Jerusalem and facilitated a discussion among 12 groups of 8-10 people. Over a hundred people, including a number of Israelis and Palestinians, attended the fundraising event in the Beverly Hills Public Library. The documentary is about two mothers whose 17-year old daughters - one an Israeli, the other a Palestinian suicide bomber - die in a Jerusalem market. In the documentary, the mothers confront each other, revealing a microcosm of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the complexity of reconciliation. |

1st Annual MBB Congress, St. Malo, Allenspark, Colorado |
Feb. 15-18, 2008 -- Over 120 people gathered at the to the St. Malo Catholic Retreat, Conference & Spiritual Center in Allenspark, Colo., USA from Feb. 15 - Feb. 18, 2007 to attend the founding Mediators Beyond Borders Congress and the 3rd Annual Rocky Mountain Retreat. Out of the 120, over 60 were MBB Founding Members, constituting close to a third of the total MBB membership. Members traveled as far as from Scotland, Germany, The Netherlands and Canada. Jan. 21, 2008 -- MBB co-sponsored Pathways to Reconciliation: The Shoah in Martin Luther King’s Theory of Justice at Chatham University from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. The event took participants onto a “pathway to recoconciliation” – attendees traveled from Falk Hall to Buhl Hall, to the Chapel and finally to the Anderson Dining Hall to learn about the universal dimensions of Martin Luther King’s legacy.

Peace in Action Series: A Conversation with Penelope Bissett |
Nov. 1, 2007 -- Penelope Bissett, MBB Student Supporter, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA and a Ford Insitute Researcher in International Development & Human Security, gave a presentation titled "Vicious Cycle of Violence: The Consequences of Ignoring Child Soldiers" based on her experience in Buduburam Refugee Settlement in Ghana, where she worked with a group of former child soldiers through the Veteran Child Soldier Association of Liberia (VECSAOL). The Presentation took place at Chatham University.
