Ashok Panikkar is Meta-Culture's founder and Executive Director. Ashok is a conflict resolution professional who came back to India after ten years in the United States working as a mediator, trainer and facilitator. Over the years, as a Conflict Management Consultant, Senior Trainer and Director of Training, he has conducted hundreds of workshops in negotiation, communication, conflict resolution, thinking skills and cross-cultural/diversity training all around the United States, India and in Europe.
He has been a lead mediator and has directed a successful organizational conflict resolution program in Cambridge, Massachusetts, successfully mediating hundreds of disputes. As a professional facilitator, Ashok facilitated dialogues between extremely polarized groups both in the corporate and the public sphere. His experience ranges from working with Fortune 500 companies, to mid-sized organizations, governmental and non-governmental groups and educational institutions.
Ashok has a Master's degree in Critical and Creative Thinking from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and advanced training in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from leading institutes in the US. As the Executive Director of Meta-Culture he has extensively trained and consulted for companies such as the World Bank, Infosys Technologies, Wipro Technologies, Accenture, Coke, Nokia, Bharti Airtel, Andritz, LG, ANZ Banking Group, General Motors and others. He also been actively involved in advising senior management of leading Indian and international companies on relationship management, conflict resolution and conflict systems design.
Ashok is particularly interested in exploring issues related to individual and group identity in conflict and the role that aesthetic and moral sensibilities can play in the resolution of conflict. He is currently studying and experimenting with the types of skills, dispositions and sensibilities that practitioners of CR can benefit from, using his own organization as a laboratory. |
