January 2007

Mediators Without Borders
Mediators Beyond Borders is activated as Mediators Without Borders in January 2007 by four incorporators: Kenneth Cloke, Robert A. Creo, Erica Ariel Fox and Joan S. Goldsmith, as a charitable organization under Pennsylvania law. Kenneth Cloke designs the community-based model for MBB.
May 2007 World Mediation News
Founding Members Keith Seat and Brenda Hansen start compiling the World Mediation News, a monthly compilation of peace-keeping news around the world.
July 2007

The Liberian Initiative
Mediators Without Borders launches The Liberian Initiative under the leadership of MBB Secretary-Treasurer Robert A. Creo. It is a multi-pronged project to repatriate a group of former child soldiers from the Buduburam Refugee Settlement near Accra, Ghana back to Liberia. The Liberian Initaitive remains the largest MBB international project to date.
August 2007
Pittsburgh Somali Refugee Project
Mediators Without Borders launches the Pittsburgh Somali Refugee Project to provide basic mediation training to the Somali Bantu refugees attending the Arsenal Middle School in Lawrenceville.
September 2007 MBB University Chapter - University of Pittsburgh
The first MBB University Chapter is chartered at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
November 2007 Hurricane Katrina Project
MBB launches Hurricane Katrina Project under the leadership of Board Director Nan Waller Burnett to provide skill-building workshops for local mediators.

MBB University Chapter - University of Florida
The second MBB University Chapter is chartered at the University of Florida, Gainesville, USA.

Peace & Reconciliation Report
MBB starts producing the membership newsletter Peace & Reconciliation Report, with Barbora Batokova, MBB Communications Director, being the editor.

January 2008

Mediators Beyond Borders
Mediators Without Borders changes its name to Mediators Beyond Borders (MBB) due to trademark issues.

MBB Board of Directors Welcomes Anna Spain
Anna Spain joins the Board of Directors and replaces Joan Goldsmith.

MBB Member Profile Database
MBB launches the MBB Member Profile Database that includes personal profiles of all Mediator Members, including their capabilities, in-country experience and language skills.

MBB University Chapter - University of Ljubljana
The first international MBB University Chapter is chartered at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

February 2008
1st Annual MBB Congress

MBB holds its first Annual Congress in the St. Malo Retreat Center in Allenspark, Colorado from February 15-18, 2008. Over 60 MBB Founding Members attend.
March 2008


MBB Board of Directors Expands

Founding Members Virginia Morrison and Douglas Noll join the Board of Directors.

July 2008

The Nepal Initiative
MBB starts exploring opportunities for The Nepal Initiative and solicts MBB members to volunteer with the Washington University School of Law Nepal project under the leadership of Board Director C.J. Larkin. Two months later, MBB receives requests for assistance with restorative justice and truth and reconciliation programs.

June 2008
MBB University Chapter - Woodbury College

The fourth MBB University Chapter is chartered at the Woodbury College in Montpelier, Vermont, USA.

August 2008

The Zimbabwe Initiative
MBB starts formal assessment and preparations to launch The Zimbabwe Initative under the leadership of Board Director Anna Spain.

The Colombia Initiative & Latin American Committee
After returning from the 5th Colombian Congress for Mediators, FM Rhonda Neuhaus with FM Charlie Pillsbury form the Latin American Committee to explore possibilities for an MBB Project in Colombia.

October 2008

Middle East Peace Initiatives
After receiving a request from Neve Shalom Wahat Al Salam (NSWAS), a half Jewish and half Arab village in Israel, MBB officially starts exploring the best ways to help with expansion of NSWAS conflict resolution services in Israel.

November 2008
MBB University Chapter - University of Maryland

The fifth MBB University Chapter is chartered at the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
February 2009

The Kosovo Project
MBB starts exploring opportunities for an MBB Project in Kosovo.

The Zimbabwe Initiative
The Zimbabwe Initiative is officially approved by the Board of Directors and becomes an active MBB project.
